Without love, I am nothing.

God is love.

Love advertisement... photographed by a friend of our while she on her way to work near Oakland, California in Nov. 2011.

Janet Tyler has her face wrapped in bandages after her 11th treatment. The aim of the treatment is to make her look normal. If the treatment fails she may be assigned to a ghetto area where others who look like her are able to live among their own kind because the state requires conformity.

Doctor: "I've seen that woman's real face. The face of a real self. It’s a good face. It’s a human face.... What is the dimensional difference between beauty and something repellent? Is it skin deep?"

Leader: “Glorious conformity… the delight and ultimate pleasure of our unified society.”

Do we only love those who are like us? Do we make judgments about others based on superficial distinctions? How do you like it when others judge you based on external appearances? Do we want to make others in our own image... to conform them to us? Real love sees the real person beneath the face.

"The Eye of the Beholder"

(also titled "The Private World Of Darkness")

Twilight Zone: Rod Serling, Season 2, Episode 42 1960

In this song a lonely boy, a woman whose husband has left her and a man in prison are all wondering if there is anyone who will love them just for who they are... they are wondering what love really means.

"He's waiting to die as he sits all alone
He's a man in a cell who regrets what he's done
He utters a cry from the depths of his soul
"Oh Lord, forgive me, I want to go home"

Then he heard a voice somewhere deep inside
And it said
"I know you've murdered and I know you've lied
I have watched you suffer all of your life
And now that you'll listen, I'll tell you that I..."

I will love you for you
Not for what you have done or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love
The love that you never knew."

Don't I  long to be loved not for my past or future accomplishments, but just as I am? Am I able to love my family and others around me with this kind of love? Who loves me in this way? Do you think God does? How did or does God show this love?

"What Love Really Means"

JJ Heller -

(Official Music Video)

An Iowa schoolteacher, the day after Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered in 1968, gave her third-grade students a first-hand experience in the meaning of discrimination. This is the story of what she taught the children, and the impact that lesson had on their lives.

Teacher: "What's brotherhood?"

Children: "Be kind to your brothers. Treat everyone as you would like to be treated."

Teacher: "Is there anyone... who we do not treat as our brothers?"

"Do you think you know how it would feel to be judged by the color of your skin?"

Love includes treating others as we would like to be treated. When we choose to have no dealings with others based on external differences we deny our Creator and own humanity. To show partiality is not loving. Trying to see life through another's eyes is is one way to learn to love. The way we treat the person who is least in our eyes shows what we really think about God.

In September 2010 students at San Leandro High School in California organized a "Love Rocks" club. They invite others by setting up a table and giving away free "Love Rocks". They have two weekly "Love Talks" discussion groups on campus during lunch or after school. In the first 4 weeks they gave away about 200 "Love Rocks", had 50 students sign up for the club and about 15 came to the "Love Talks" discussion groups.

"You can have one of these 'Love Rocks' for free, but there are two conditions. First, put this 'Love Rock' in your pocket and for the next 24 hours you need to love everyone around you as much as you love yourself. Then, after 24 hours you need to pass on the the 'Love Rock'  on to someone who agrees to take the '24 hour Love Test' and to pass it on to someone else. Do you accept these two conditions?"

Encouraging others is a good way to show real love. If you can't think of anything else to say, encourage someone.

Heart Specialists

The aim of our non-profit work is to encourage real love (vertical & horizontal). The root of the biggest problems in the world stem from a lack of real love. Economic, environmental, educational, social, religious and political solutions that do not focus on real love are dealing with the symptoms, not treating the real cause of the problems.

We work through dramatic arts (pantomime), writing, seminars, music and other creative means to encourage the restoration of broken relationships and the maintaining of loving relationships. We have made it our aim to pursue love in our relationships and to seek to awaken others to the eternal truths that help us to take off our masks, come out of hiding and find real love.
